Pebble Beach OAD Advice:

The most obvious choices this week are Jason Day and Dustin Johnson. Both are top 5 in recent performance and horse rankings here. Jason has the better course fit based on his skill set. We’ve been burned twice in a row with an angry Rahm and an injured Matsuyama, so dare we throw another top 10 player into the fray?

Patrick Reed and Phil Mickelson are our two candidates that are great fits here and are just starting to heat up.

Rahm and Spieth are the two top horses but given their recent play, it’s hard to burn Spieth and we’ve already wasted Rahm.

Perez (already used) and Woodland are nice options, and hopefully Woodland’s nice recent play will translate over this week (better putting). Perez is top 15 in both recent play and horse ranking. Hadley sits just outside of these players as a longer shot who is top 20 in both recent and horse.

We’ll go with Phil Mickelson this week and hope his horrible ending to last week’s event doesn’t cause a mental hangover.

Last Week’s Results:

Not even sure what to say this week as Hideki withdraws from another event. First, it’s very bad luck to have a player with that track record who played an okay first round WD. Second, this has become a trend for him over the years as he probably has the most WDs among top 50 players. We got burned through no real fault of our own. Frustrating.
