Notes
  • A: We didn’t like the short three-putt on the final hole, but given Simpson didn’t do much of anything, we hope Palmer will take his anger out on the golf course and go low.
  • B: We hesitate to start Walker given he’s the leader and that usually keeps someone from going low in the final round. Kirk is baffling at times, but we’re going to “trust” that today’s round was an outlier and over the past 5 years, it’s his only round over par at the Sony. With the pressure off, perhaps he can put it together and shoot another 66. We think Jason Day is too far out of it to contend but will probably play well, so start him if you’ve already used him or don’t want to risk it with Kirk. We have decided to preserve his start for later this season. Zach is our 2nd starter as he’s yet to put it together and has all the tools.
  • C: Still feels like Henley’s leaving a lot out there and has the better chance to shoot a mid-to-low 60s on Sunday. Good luck!

Notes
  • Tournament starts on Thursday so we’re back to our normal schedule.
  • The weather forecast is currently great for golf with a 10-20% chance of rain each day, which shouldn’t be a large factor. Kapalua typically gets the trade winds (though not this year) but Waialae is on the southeast side of Oahu, typically protected from the harsher northwestern winds. Weather should not be a big factor this week.
